HUGO RIVAS CUARTETO es un eximio guitarrista que posee una vasta discografía en las que han participado intérpretes destacados de la música argentina.
Con el maestro Leopoldo Federico grabó el CD titulado «Sentido único» que ganó el premio Gardel y fue nominado al Premio Grammy.
Fue invitado por Yamandú Costa a los shows que realizó este guitarrista brasileño durante su gira en Argentina.
En 2019 publicó el CD Abriendo caminos junto a su cuarteto que cuenta además con la participación destacada de grandes invitados como Susana Rinaldi, Juan Falú, el ya mencionado Yamandú y Julio Cobelli.
Su más reciente producción discográfica es el CD Tuya y mía junto al maestro Julio Cobelli en dúo de guitarras tangueras.
Actualmente se encuentra trabajando con su cuarteto (se suman el guitarrón, el contrabajo y la percusión) en un proyecto que incluye nuevas obras de su autoría y arreglos originales e innovadores basados en el repertorio clásico del tango.
Junto a Sciammarella Tango se presentarán el sábado 18 de Marzo a las 21:00 horas en la SALA ALEJANDRO CASONA.
